Description
Lockout Dry Cow Teat Sealant is a non antibiotic internal teat sealant designed to help dairy producers prevent new intramammary infections during the dry period. Applied at dry off, Lockout forms a sterile, physical barrier inside the teat canal, protecting the udder from environmental bacteria when natural keratin plugs may not form in time.
Lockout is formulated as a visible blue, smooth paste containing 60% bismuth subnitrate in a mineral oil vehicle. This internal dry cow teat sealant remains in place throughout the dry period and is easily identified at first milking, making it simple to distinguish from milk or mastitis.
Each single dose syringe contains 4 grams of sterile sealant, sufficient for one teat. The compact syringe design, larger thumbpad, simple pull off cap, and short ½ inch insertion tip support hygienic, consistent dry cow application.
Lockout is compatible with conventional dry cow mastitis prevention programs and may be used alone or alongside intramammary dry cow antibiotics when recommended. The product itself requires no milk withdrawal and no pre slaughter withdrawal and is safe for use in non lactating dairy cows and replacement dairy heifers.
Packaged in pails of 144 single dose syringes, Lockout treats 36 dairy cows per pail, providing reliable, antibiotic free teat protection throughout the dry period.
