Description

Designed specifically for use at calving, Bovikalc helps support healthy blood calcium levels when calcium demand rises sharply with the onset of colostrum and milk production. Each bolus contains two highly available calcium sources: calcium chloride for immediate calcium release and calcium sulfate for extended support over the critical first 24 hours after calving. The bolus disintegrates quickly in the rumen, allowing for efficient calcium delivery and absorption.

Low blood calcium, even in cows that do not show visible signs of milk fever, can negatively affect muscle function, immune response, feed intake, and overall transition performance. Bovikalc is commonly used in multiparous cows, high-producing cows, Jerseys, and animals with a history of hypocalcemia or other transition challenges.

As part of a comprehensive fresh cow program, Bovikalc helps dairy producers support smoother transitions, maintain cow health, and promote strong starts to lactation.

  • Fast calcium availability providing calcium chloride, which is rapidly absorbed to support blood calcium levels immediately after calving.
  • Extended calcium support providing calcium sulfate which provides a slower release to help sustain calcium availability.
  • Supports transition success by supporting muscle function, feed intake, immune response, uterine contractions, and milk production.
  • Fat-coated bolus is designed for safe handling and easier delivery.
  • Can be used alongside negative DCAD transition diets to provide added calcium support after calving.
